Come and See Me & Location Mashup by Kiana Ledé (feat. Maurice Moore)

The Come and See Me & Location Mashup is the 6th track on my playlist, The Best R&B Ever. Like the 5th track, it features two powerful and rich R&B voices that blend together really well. However, unlike the effortless blending of legendary voices in the 5th track, this creative mashup features a high level of individual talent, with two young artists sharing the spotlight together.

I included this song on the playlist because the mashup of Khalid’s Location and Come and See Me by PARTYNEXTDOOR 3 featuring Drake is super duper creative. The seamless transition between the two tracks actually sounds like one song.

It doesn’t make sense now
Shit just got real, things are gettin’ intense now, yeah
I hear you talkin’ ’bout we a lot, oh, you speak French now?
You’re givin’ me the signs and I gotta take a hint right now, ooh

I hit you up, like do you wanna hang right now, baby?
On the East side and you know I’m with the gang right now
You say, do I own a watch? Do I know what time it is right now?
It’s after 2 a.m. and that’s asking a lot of you right now, yeah, yeah

All you ever say is come and see me for once
Come and see me for once
You’ll never come to me, naw
You will never come to me
All she ever say is come and see me for once
Come and she me for once
You don’t ever come to me
You’ll never come to me, yeah

So baby, just send me your location, let’s
Focus on communicating
‘Cause I just need a time and place to come through
Place to come through
Send me your location, let’s
Ride the vibrations
‘Cause I don’t need nothing else but you

I don’t wanna fall in love off of subtweets, oh
Let’s get personal
I got a lot of cool spots that we can go
Tell me what’s the move and I got you, girl

Come and see me for once
Come and see me for once
You don’t come to me
You ain’t never come to me

No, girl, just send me your location, let’s
Ride the vibrations
‘Cause I don’t need no one else but you

Ooh, yeah
Come and see me for once

The Closer I Get to You Lyrics by Luther Vandross

The Closer I Get to You is the 5th track on my playlist, The Best R&B Ever. It features two of the most powerful and rich voices in the history of R&B. I can see this beautiful song being the featured track on a wedding playlist. The lyrics are perfect for a marriage ceremony or the main dance during the reception. The harmony of this duet symbolize the coming together of two people and the effortless blending of their lives. The vocals of this track are as smooth as silk. It’s the perfect example between people that can sing versus people that can sang. I included this song on the playlist because the harmony between Luther Vandross and Beyoncé is perfect, especially around the 4:00 minute mark.

The closer I get to you
The more you make me see
By giving me all you’ve got (Tell me more)
Ooh, yeah, your love has captured me, yeah

Over and over again
I tried to tell myself that we
Could never be more than friends
But all the while inside, I knew it was real
The way you make me feel

Lying here next to you, oh honey
Time just seems to fly, yeah
Needing you more and more (More and more)
Let’s give love a try (Let’s give love a try)
I wanna try, love

Sweeter and sweeter love grows
And heaven’s there for those
Who fool the tricks of time
With hearts of love we’ll find
True love in a special way, way

The closer I get
The closer I get to you, baby
The more you make me see
(The more you make me see)
By giving me what you’ve got
Your love captured me

Ooh, over and over again
I try to tell myself that we
Could never be more than friends
And all the while inside I knew this was real
Got to be, got to be real
The way you make me feel
(You know, you know, you know)
My baby, my baby, my baby
My love (My love, my love, my love)
Ooh

(Come closer, love)
Come a little closer so that
We can see into the eyes of love
I wanna see into those eyes of love

(Come closer, love)
Just a little closer let me speak to you
I wanna softly tell you something
Here I am and here’s my love
I just want you too

(Come closer, love)
Come a little closet let me whisper in your ear
‘Cause I wanna tell you something
I wanna whisper in your ear so soft
So come closer, love

Move on in real close so we can celebrate
The way we feel about each other’s loving
(Wanna tell you words, words of love)
(Words that make you wanna)
So come closer, love

Mary J. Blige

Solo, Female Vocalist

ABOUT

Active: 1992 to Present
Hometown: Bronx, NY
Genre: R&B/Soul

Bio: Mary J. Blige hit the ground running with a first album that was filled with track after track of amazing music. What’s the 411? had two bonafide number 1 hits, Real Love and You Remind Me. However, at least 8 of the 12 tracks on that album could be hits on any R&B album, and 2 of the 12 track are intro tracks. You can forget about the skip button! Repeat would be more appropriate. Mary has 14 full length albums and countless singles and EPs that display a voice full of range and raw emotion. That same raw emotion has also made her a star in Hollywood. I am in love with her role in Power Book II: Ghost. Also, check out her starring role in Betty & Coretta along side Angela Bassett.

J. Howell

Solo, Male Vocalist

ABOUT

Active: 2014 to Present
Hometown: Memphis, TN
Genre: R&B/Soul

He began his career as an independent artist by releasing single projects, such as Put Me on Luv.

My introduction to J. Howell came when Deserve hit my eardrums. However, Talk, from the same album that gave us Deserve, was the track that gave him enough traction to be picked up on radio stations.
