Before I Let Go Lyrics by Frankie Beverly & Maze

Before I Let Go is the 7th track on my playlist, The Best R&B Ever. I included this song on the playlist because it makes me think about summertime, family, and fun. It’s upbeat R&B that makes you want to dance. Ironically, this is a breakup song. Nevertheless, it makes you feel good. I guess Frankie Beverly came to the conclusion that he was doing the right thing in letting her go, because he had fun with this track from start to finish.

Whoa, whoa

You made me happy this you can bet
You stood right beside me, yeah, and I won’t forget
And I really love you, you should know
I wanna make sure I’m right, girl
Before I let go

We’ve had our good times that’s not the same, no
We’re hurting each other, girl, it’s a shame
I won’t be foolish, no, I wanna know
I wanna make sure I’m right, girl, oh
Before I let go, yeah

You know I think the sun rises and shines on you
You know there’s nothing, nothing
Nothing that I would not do, oh, no
Before I let you go

I would never, never, never, never
Never, never, never, never let you go
Before I know

We were so close, our love was strong
I can’t understand it, no
Where did we go wrong?
I won’t be hasty, girl, I’ve got to know
I gotta make sure I’m right
Before I let go

I wanna know
I can’t, I can’t let you go
I can’t let you go
Before I know
Come on, ya’ll
Come on, ya’ll

I wanna know, I wanna know, I wanna know
Before I let you go
I’ve gotta know
Come on ya’ll
Come on
I can’t let you go
Go, go, go, go, girl
Come on, ya’ll

Move on in real close so we can celebrate
The way we feel about each other’s loving
(Wanna tell you words, words of love)
(Words that make you wanna)
So come closer, love
